The final of Europe’s elite football cup competition is set to take place at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, on May 31st. It will be competed between two of FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.Rather than performing at the half-time interval like with the SuperBowl, Linkin Park will take to the stage at the Allianz Arena before the game begins to provide entertainment to those in attendance.

In a statement, the band shared, “With our new album and ongoing tour, we’ve been overwhelmed by the fans’ energy and excitement.”The group, which is now fronted by Emily Armstrong, continued: “We can’t wait to share that same energy and excitement at the UEFA Champions League Final Kick Off Show presented by Pepsi. This marks a totally new experience for us as a band, and we’re excited to share some of our favourite songs from the past and present, with the thousands in the crowd and millions watching around the world.”

Meanwhile, Guy-Laurent Epstein, co-managing director at UC3, said: “This year’s UEFA Champions League Final Kick Off Show presented by Pepsi promises to be a spectacular moment, with one of the world’s most iconic rock bands performing live just minutes before the biggest match in European club football. Together with Pepsi, we’re proud to continue enhancing the fan experience – both in the stadium and for millions watching around the world – with unforgettable entertainment on and off the pitch.”

Last year, the rock group returned with From Zero, marking their first album following the death of their late frontman Chester Bennington. From Zero was a commercial success, topping the charts in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Netherlands, Germany, France, Portugal and Italy.Their upcoming European summer tour has sold out iconic stadiums such as London’s 90,000-capacity Wembley Stadium and the Stade de France in Paris.

However, for their US tour, they will play indoor arenas and recently downsized their Dodgers Stadium show in Los Angeles to the smaller KIA Forum likely due to ticket sales.
